Notes for Editors

The NI Energy Order 2003 replaced the Offices of Director General of Electricity Supply for Northern Ireland and Director General of Gas for Northern Ireland with the NI Authority for Energy Regulation. Both positions were held by Douglas McIldoon.

Between 1996 and 2006 Energy companies and customers will spend about £2bn of private money modernising Northern Ireland's Energy Infrastructure and reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions.
