Regulator invites bids in the 2003 Non Fossil Fuel Auction

INVITATION TO BID
in the NON-FOSSIL FUEL (NFF) AUCTION 2003
Close of bids: 5pm
on Friday 14th February 2003
The Director General
of Electricity Supply in Northern Ireland has issued this Invitation
to Bid in the 2003 Non-Fossil Fuel Auction for 30 capacity units of
1 MW each.
1 and 3 year products
are on offer, with a maximum of 10 capacity units available for 3 year
contract duration.
These 30 capacity
units are being auctioned from the NIE Power Procurement Business stock
of NFF capacity, contracted under Government obligation. At present
40MW of capacity is under contract, generating around 120GWh each year.
This auction gives
suppliers in NI an opportunity to contract with customers for the supply
of renewable source electricity to customers, from April 2003. In the
case of supply to non domestic customers the Climate Change Levy may
be avoided.
Bidders must register
their bid with Ofreg by 5.00pm on Friday 14th February 2003.
Note: Intention
to bid must be registered by Monday 10th February 2003.
